Oakland Zoo - Maddie's Center for Science & Environmental Education

What:

For kids ages 3-5 ... (sorry, no siblings)

Animals have fun just like you and here at the zoo they have their fun by using enrichment. Enrichment is something we give our animals to play with, eat, or smell. During this workshop you will help to make animal enrichment and make a trip to the animal exhibit to watch
the animal investigate your creation.

Critter Crafts is a parent child class for children ages 3-5. The classes will be located at the Maddie's Center for Science & Environmental Education located at the lower entrance of the zoo from 9:30-11:00. Your class will include a short tour of the Children's Zoo, a craft workshop and a close up with a few of our education animal ambassadors and may include story time and biofact discovery. The first hour and a half will be a structured program with the last
half hour as free time to explore the Discovery Room and have fun or finish up your craft activities. Pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will be accepted. Walk-ins will be taken the day of if the program does not fill in advance. There will be a max of 25 people (adults and children) for each program.

Important Info: Due to room capacity the zoo requests that:
1. Each child be accompanied by no more than 2 adults.
2. Each parent bring no more than 3 children per adult chaperone.
For the consideration of others, please do not bring in children under the age of 3.

Note: This Class is not reserved for LMC members, so be sure to sign up soon if you are interested. I'm not sure how quickly these classes fill up!.

Sycamore Grove Park, Wetmore Road, Livermore

What:

For all ages...

Discover Sycamore Grove Park -- Bring your stroller, bikes, scooters, push cars, or just feet and lets take a walk through Sycamore Grove Park. Bring a lunch if you want for after the walk

We'll meet at the park entrance in the parking lot on Wetmore Road at 10:00 and see how far we get.
