click here. Your dues pay for many of the club sponsored events throughout the year. Family events include the Pumpkin Patch, Valentine's Party, Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic. Couples events have included Date Nights, Moroccan dinners, and Dave & Busters. We are always looking for great ideas, so please feel free to make suggestions. We invite you to join us at our next monthly business meeting. Our general meetings are on the second Monday of every month, starting at 7:00 p.m. Please call or email for the location if you would like to attend as a guest. LIVERMORE MOM'S CLUB BYLAWS As Amended January 9, 2006 PURPOSE The Purpose of the Livermore Mom's Club (LMC) is to share ideas and talents so that we may grow as parents, learn better ways to understand our children, and help them become confident and capable individuals. DEFINITION The LMC is non-political, non-partisan, non-sectarian and non-profit. MEMBERSHIP Membership will be unlimited in size and will not be exclusive to Livermore residents. MEETINGS The regular Monthly Meeting will be held the second Monday night of each month at 7:00 p.m. Board and Committee meetings will be held as deemed necessary. DUES The board will determine dues in January for the next membership year. Dues will decrease by a set amount each month for those new members who join mid-year. Any prospective member may attend LMC functions for 2 consecutive months and then will submit dues. Should a member drop out of the LMC the dues will not be refunded. The annual dues and any other money raised by the LMC are to be used to defray expenses and further the interest of LMC. EXECUTIVE BOARD The Executive Board will oversee the annual budget, bylaw review, treasury audit and any other function as appropriate. Executive Board members are expected to attend all board and general meetings. CO-DIRECTORS - Will call the meeting to order and conduct business sessions of the meetings. The Co-Directors shall also move the club forward as a whole. TREASURER - Will take dues for club membership and keep receipts and vouchers for those who need reimbursement. Will also put a financial report in the newsletter. Will maintain newsletter advertising including guidelines. STANDING COMMITTEES Standing Committee members are expected to attend all board and general meetings. MEMBERSHIP - Will act as Membership Coordinator by keeping a roster of all members with their general information. PROGRAM COORDINATOR - Will organize programs or potluck dinners for each monthly meeting. NEWSLETTER - Will type and deliver monthly newsletter. The newsletter will be considered the minutes for the monthly meeting. WELCOME/CHEER - Will arrange meals for members in need. Welcome and greet new people. PLAYGROUP - Will organize playgroups for appropriate ages and days. Will keep separate playgroup guidelines. Will negotiate concerns of playgroup members involving playgroups. ADULT ACTIVITIES - Will organize functions for adult members and spouses of the LMC. Will include couples nights out as well as moms nights out. A minimum of 8 events per year. FAMILY ACTIVITIES - Will organize functions for members and their families of the LMC. ADVERTISING/MARKETING – Will forge relationships with community members to promote the LMC and generate advertising opportunities. SECRETARY - Will keep minutes of the Board meetings and report as necessary. This role will not be filled by an individual person, but rather the responsibility will rotate among the Executive Board and Standing Committee Members. CHANGE OF OFFICERS The length of each office is one year. Term is from March through February. All officers will change at the same time in March except for the Co-Directors which will stagger their terms with one beginning in March and one beginning in September. Co-Director terms are March through February and September through August. SELECTION OF OFFICERS First a nominating committee of volunteers will be formed in October. Nominating committee will take volunteers for all offices until January. Any person volunteering for Co-Director must have completed 1 year in a board position prior to the start of the new term. If more than one person volunteers for Co-Director, a secret-ballot election will be held in January and/or July. A simple majority wins. All other board positions are filled on a volunteer basis. The first person to volunteer for a board position will be granted the position. It is left to the discretion of the individual board member as to whether or not they wish to have a co-chair to help share the responsibilities of their board position. The split of responsibilities is left up to the respective co-chairs. TERM OF OFFICERS Executive Board and Standing Committee members shall not be permitted to hold the same office for more than two consecutive years. AMENDMENT PROCEDURE To alter a bylaw, a simple majority of members present at a general meeting is required. Members must be given a two-month notice of when a vote for a bylaw change is proposed. GENERAL COURTESIES Each member is expected to volunteer for 1 function or activity or office to support the club, i.e., making a meal, being on a committee, being on the board. Each parent will be responsible for his or her own children at LMC functions. Members and their children should not attend LMC functions if they are ill. The LMC is not to be used as a means to solicit goods or services. Members may submit invitations to the President for home parties or garage sales. The President will announce during the meeting who is having a party or garage sale, and the time and date. All questions will be deferred to the individual hostess until after the meeting. Paid advertisements will be permitted in the newsletter, however LMC will not endorse or screen ads nor are they club functions.
