Why did you join LMC?

What would you like to see happen in the club?

What do you "use" in the club for you or your kids?

bulletI initially joined the mom's club for my own sanity (adult conversation is nice once in a while) but I found that I use it just as much for the kids.  I enjoy MNO, Scrapbooking, and we all enjoy playgroups and children's outings.  You all are a great bunch of ladies and I've had a terrific time getting to know you all and making some good friends.

I joined LMC originally to meet other moms and to join a playgroup.  That was 5 years ago.  Now, my youngest attends a playgroup.  We all attend some children's outings, I attend mom events and I am on the board.

I joined LMC when I had just moved from overseas to Livermore. I was told about the group from one of my husband’s work colleagues who gave me the website.  The first thing I did was join a playgroup. The topic of the first General Meeting that I attended was an overview of what the club "does"; I joined that evening (November 2005). I'm still getting my bearings with regards to the activities, but so far have been very impressed by the range of events for couples/moms/kids. I use playgroups, Yahoo discussion group, Coffee Club and meetings. I’m looking forward to the Children’s Monthly Outings and Mom’s Night Out.

I joined LMC because it seemed to have many fun activities and the club consisted of a nice group of parents. I'm a new member, so all of it is new and exciting.  I would love to see more things for working parents and their children. So far, we have enjoyed the playgroup (only one, but felt very comfortable), one General Meeting and the Scrapbook Club.  I plan on coming to more events in the next few months.

I joined LMC to try and meet some other moms.  Right now I'm on the Board and I've started a Walking Group.  I pretty much just use the club for me!

bullet

I joined the LMC to meet new people, have my son become more interactive with kids his age and have fun experiences for the whole family.  So far, I have enjoyed the Coffee Club and look forward to my son's playgroup.  In the future, I would like to participate in more activities such as Mom's Night Out and Scrapbook Club.

I joined LMC to meet other ladies in my similar situation as a parent.  As a working mother what I would like to see are more children welcomed activities after work.  I use the club for my child and myself.  I love the Book Club and the playgroups.

bullet

I joined to have a way to get out of the house (MNO/General Meetings), to meet other moms (since I was a little freaked out about resigning from my job to be an "at home mom", to learn from other moms, and to meet people in general (I was new to Livermore).

I joined the club so Stephanie could meet some kids her age to play with.  We really enjoy the playgroups as it has giving us a chance to meet new people in our community.  In the summer time we really like the Children's Monthly Outings.  It's hard to go to them when we have multiple kids in school. I would love it if we had name tags for everyone at the meetings.  I'm not able to make a lot of them, but when I do, I see familiar faces, but can’t seem to remember names.  It's awkward to ask when you've talked to someone two or three times already sporadically.

I joined LMC when we moved to Livermore.  I belonged to the Pacifica Mothers Club and the San Francisco Mothers of Twins Club previously.  I have found moms' clubs to be a great source of support, friendship, referrals, etc.  LMC members were very welcoming and helpful. I’d like to see “closets” that members could donate to and borrow from (snow clothing, Halloween costumes, etc.). The twins club does this for preemie clothing and PMC did this for snow clothes.  It was great for people who don't go up to the snow that often. A lending library of parenting and child info books that people could borrow at meetings. Perhaps better use of our yahoo website:  1) More resource files on our yahoo group site compiling ideas for rainy day activities, local activities, calendar of local events that families enjoy, food ideas for feeding children, snack ideas, book recommendations for parenting, etc. 2) Calendar of activities on the yahoo group calendar, 3) membership roster on the yahoo website.  It is easier to access this than to try and remember the passwords for the individual files on the LMC website. Moms who would be willing to be "experts" on a particular parenting/childcare/health topic that they know about/have personal experience with.  A member could call someone and talk/get ideas about an issue they might be having.  PMC did this and I used it and found it quite helpful. We belong to a club playgroup for 2003 children.  I belong to the yahoo group.  We have done some of the Children's Monthly Outings.

I joined LMC because all of my girlfriends with kids live very far away, so I wanted to meet some local moms. I think the club is great as it is because it does have a great mission and works hard to fulfill, but maybe my hope would be to have LMC keep growing. I use the club for interactions with other moms and for my son to meet other children his age.  I've been having a lot of fun being on the LMC Board.  They are a great bunch of gals.  I haven't been in that long so I do look forward to more involvement and attending other events MNO, Scrapbooking Club, etc. once I find some time!

I joined to meet other moms, socialize and get support. I wanted Christopher to have kids his age to play with. We have used playgroups, CMO, Family Dinner Club (it’s been fun to talk to & dine with other families),  I use the yahoo group regularly and have gone to MNO and  General Meetings when possible. I look forward to going on a Couple’s Night Out.
