The zoo (especially the rides!), pumpkin patch, and the train ride in Sunol at Christmas time.

Walking, climbing trees, and looking for animals at Sycamore Grove.  Another family enjoys the grove on their bikes, scooters, and wagons.

Camping especially at the beach or with friends.

Roller skating in San Ramon.

Exploring the Oakland Zoo, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Marine World.

Disneyland and hiking at Del Valle.

Morgan Territory where the kids can hike and frog hunt, and bring bags for treasures that they find along the way.  They almost always find (or hear) something new. Once they heard coyote pups!

Last but not least, who can miss the Alameda County Fair. One family goes on the last day when they have the livestock auction and attend the auction barbeque -- fabulous New York steaks!
