For our anniversary in December, while we had family
visiting to watch Calvin, we went and stayed at the Larkspur Landing in
Pleasanton. It is off of Hopyard, near In & Out. Anyway, I made the
reservation on Expedia and got the room for around $75 or so and the room
was awesome. Super nice linens and down comforter, a little kitchen
area and a really cozy, cottage cabin-like lobby area. The only thing
missing would have been a bigger tub or Jacuzzi. We really enjoyed it and
have recommended it since then. We had talked about going into the city
for the evening, but decided to save some money and stay closer- and it
was a good decision! Also, it was in the midst of a torrential rain and we
didn't feel like driving in it and dealing with traffic. We also went to
the movies (my first movie since having Cal in March 2005!) and then just
ate at Macaroni Grill, which is also a favorite of ours. It was a great
night. I highly recommend the hotel! Maybe we'll get to go again
someday... |

Huh???? Date night? What's that? |
 |
My husband and I loved going to Wente for our date.
Of course Wente was the last place we ate and the last time we had date
night since I gave birth 7 months ago and we haven’t been out to dinner
alone since. |
 |
I’d vote for Terra Mia on East Avenue. It would be a
great place for a leisurely and extremely tasty evening out. |
 |
We are not big wine drinkers but love going to Wente
for dinner and dessert. The atmosphere is calm, and quiet, very relaxing.
Especially if you eat outside in the courtyard in the spring/summer
nights, it’s very romantic. Away from traffic and crowds, Wente takes the
cake. ... and now with a second baby on the way we are learning to
appreciate our date outings more and more. |

Brunch early on Sunday morning at The Railroad Café
is our favorite thing to do for a date..........these days. |
 |
I haven't had a 'date' with my hubby since, uh,
before our son was born. Within the next month, he WILL be taking me to
the movies and out for dinner!!! I am sad to say the last movie I saw in
the movie theater was Spy Kids 3D...and for those of you who had to sit
through it, you can understand how terrible that was! As I mentioned
to Jenn when she first asked the question, I thought SF and Pier
39/Fisherman's Wharf would be fun. So, I am first aiming for the
movies....then, SF, here I come baby!!! |

For Livermore, I'd say play some free tennis @ the LARPD
on East Ave., freshen up and grab some authentic Italian at Terra Mia
(Italian restaurant recommended here a while back). That's on East as
well. Try it on a Sunday night, It won't be too crowded and they will
probably let you opt for a table in a quiet spot. |
